Some samplers have a limitation in the amount of characters a program name can have. In order to help understand the abbreviations, here is a key with a description of terms:

Program Key

NL= Non-Looped version: the sound plays through to the end without a sustained loop

m or mf= mezzo-forte: a dynamic which is medium level (between p and F)

F/FF= Forte/Double Forte: a dynamic which is loud and full strength

SV= Small Version: various meg sized programs for "cursor prog +sample" loading

D1/D2= indicates the first and second dynamic in a program pair used for velocity cross-switching.The sound will not play after or before a certain velocity level is reached so that the other D program can be triggered at the next or previous dynamic level.

For over 10 years the team at Sonic Reality has been sampling, programming and developing sound libraries for a number of highly successful music companies and recording artists. You'll see their programmer's names on many critically acclaimed CD ROM sound libraries, keyboard products and hit records. Founded by musician and technician, Dave Kerzner, their approach has always been to create musical instrument libraries that are designed to be inspiring and simple to use.
