DISTORTED REALITY 2

Groove Menu

Unlike Groove Control™, the Groove menu method is a fairly elaborate system of tuning offsets used to match grooves to one another. The pitch of the grooves does change. However, in a library like Distorted Reality, that's more of a positive than a negative, since unique sounds are the ultimate goal.

Grooves (different BPMs) are assigned to each key in the menu. The partial/keygroup tuning is offset for each sample so that all the Grooves are tuned to the same BPM. The partials on the right side of the Keyboard are copies of the left side partials and are + one octave (double speed). Then, that Patch is copied multiple times with Patch tuning offsets in 5 BPM increments. If you want to get additional tempos (like 68 BPM) simply tune the nearest menu patch up or down and all the grooves in that patch will follow. Numerous libraries have Pitch to BPM tuning charts, or you can use a handy utility like the Production Calculator freeware program on the Mac.

Not all samplers have this capability due to their structure for handling samples/keygroups.
