SampleCell CD-ROM Directory

All original instruments have been edited again, and include at least one looped patch
All VS EXP 1 and 2 are improved versions of ST LARGE 1 and 2 in original version.

When creating a mono patch from the stereo samples, use channel 1 (left channel) for violins (VS and violas (VLS) and channel 2 for cellos (CES) and basses (BSS).

Instrument banks have been created for easy loading of powerful patch-combinations of a specific instrument. They include articulations for legato, medium and fast bowing passages and also staccatos. Taking RAM limitations in account, quite a number of patches are not included in the banks (such as tremolos, sul ponty, etc.), so don’t forget to study all the patches in the instrument folder.

It is advisable to divide large banks between two SampleCell cards of more as there are not enough voices in one card to cope. Two to three instruments loaded onto each card will usually assure a sufficient amount of voices.

We recommend you use unlooped instruments during mastering if you don’t need very long sustains. The sound quality of these unlooped samples, we believe, is much higher and more realistic.

“Orch Speed Help” is a bank that we suggest could stay open ‘on the side’ on one of the cards all the time.
It is usable with many, many banks and helps to increase the speed. Adjust volume as required.

Patches 23 VS fast legato, VLS fast lagato, BSS fast legato are meant only for use with LN patches.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

The sounds are the result of an intense and uncompromising process of playing and recording and many, many hours of editing. Each instrument was played in a variety of ways in the studio and the symphonic hall itself to achieve the spatial positioning of a true symphonic experience.
