VIENNA INSTRUMENTS, the most powerful Virtual Instruments on the market, embody intelligent Performance Algorithms into an easy-to-use VST/AU/RTAS plug-in to orchestrate an inconceivably vast array of samples. You can use Vienna Instruments on your Mac or PC in three ways:
- As a plug-in in our included mixing and host software Vienna Ensemble, in Vienna Ensemble PRO 5, or any other host application
- As a plug-in in your sequencer – e.g., Cubase, Logic, Digital Performer, Pro Tools etc. – or notation software (e.g., Sibelius, Finale, Notion)
- As a simple stand-alone application.
Installation:
Step 1: Download the latest version of the eLicenser Control Center and trasfer your Vienna license(s) to your ViennaKey or other eLicenser device.
Step 2:
Download and install the Vienna Instruments software (the most current version can be downloaded from the User Area of the Vienna Symphonic Library website).
Below is an overview showing the key features of the current versions of Vienna's free software player Vienna Instruments as well as the optional Vienna Instruments PRO.
Important Note: The new Vienna Instruments player has replaced the former Vienna Instruments “Legacy” software in its latest version (4). In addition to Vienna Instruments Player, Vienna Ensemble is now installed automatically when running the Vienna Instruments installer. Users who install the latest version of Vienna Ensemble PRO 5 need to install Vienna Instruments and/or Vienna Instruments PRO separately.

- Mac OS X 10.6 (latest update), Intel Core 2 Duo
- 2 GB RAM (4 GB recommended)
- ViennaKey (Vienna Symphonic Library USB protection device) or other USB eLicenser (e.g., from Steinberg or Arturia)
- eLicenser Control Center software (get the latest version from www.eLicenser.net)
Other configurations may work but are not actively supported.
Recommended System Requirements:
- PC Windows 7 (latest Service Pack, 64-bit), Intel i5/i7/Xeon
- Mac OS X 10.7 (latest update), i5/i7/Xeon
- Fast separate hard drive (7200 rpm or faster)
- AU/VST/RTAS compatible host (also works stand-alone)
- RTAS version requires Pro Tools 7.3 or higher
- 88 key master keyboard
