Vienna MIR PRO is a network-capable mixing solution for Mac and PC, based on Multi Impulse Response convolution. Its direct connection with Vienna Ensemble PRO 5 allows for a seamless integration with any audio production environment. Each audio signal can be routed into Vienna MIR PRO and delivered in stereo or in various surround formats on up to 8 output channels after processing.

Vienna MIR PRO merges all parts of the creative process – composition, orchestration and mixing – into a single intuitive workflow. The software offers a holistic approach to the spatial modeling of virtual orchestras, allowing the user to interact with the players more like a conductor than an engineer. Its innovative multi-parameter Control Icon replaces conventional faders and pan pots and offers concise control for positioning each instrument on the virtual stage, changing its volume and stereo width, and even rotating it within a fluid three-dimensional environment.

vRoomPack 2 offers additional rooms for Vienna MIR, featuring three recording studios of the “ORF Funkhaus”, the public radio broadcasting building of the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) in Vienna, built in the 1930s according to the plans of legendary architect Clemens Holzmeister. More than 13,000 individual impulse responses were captured using up to four dedicated Ambisonics multichannel microphone arrays. The impulses have been directed from up to 50 positions into the room in perfect steps of 60 degrees, plus to the floor and the ceiling.

For more than a century the Steinhofkirche with its incomparable acoustic properties has been a truly magical attraction for musicians and music enthusiasts. It is still used regularly for concerts today. Built at the beginning of the 20th century in today’s Socio-medical Center at Baumgartner Höhe, the church is one of Vienna’s famous Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) landmarks. It sits in the so-called “White City” that is comprised of 61 buildings and was, in its day, the largest and most modern psychiatric institution of its kind.

Vienna Ensemble PRO 5 is a cross-platform MIDI and audio LAN solution that works universally on Macs and PCs, hosting Vienna Instruments as well as third-party 64-bit and 32-bit VSTi/AU plug-ins. Use it as a host on the same computer as your sequencer to integrate all your 64-bit and 32-bit instruments and effect plug-ins from third-party manufacturers (such as Spectrasonics, Native Instruments, Waves, you name it), or use it as a master-slave solution with multiple Macs and PCs, all connected with a standard Ethernet cable. You can easily route the audio streams of a whole arsenal of computers back to your main machine without the need of external hardware. The Preserve function keeps all of your templates and samples loaded while switching from one project to another. As a Pro Tools user you may integrate your favorite AU and VST plug-ins in your sessions!

With the 64-bit version of Vienna Ensemble PRO you can load as many samples into your RAM as you have available! Use it as a host on the same computer as your sequencer to integrate all your 64-bit and 32-bit instruments, or use it as a master-slave solution, even on cross-platform networks with multiple Macs and PCs. Run your sequencer on your main computer, launch Vienna Ensemble PRO on the slave computer, and simply connect them using an Ethernet cable.
