Studio Trumpet (C, muted)
Typically known for its brilliance and majestic fanfares, the C trumpet reveals an entirely different tonal palette when paired with a “sordino” (mute). Delicate and refined in tone, the muted C trumpet offers a soft timbre that not only blends beautifully with string and woodwind ensembles but is also perfectly suited for lyrical, melodic solo lines. Recorded in its purest form at the Silent Stage, this instrument shines with expressively subdued character in projects across genres.

Velvety Textures
The muted C trumpet’s timbre evokes an air of mystery and sophistication. The sound doesn’t just become quieter; it unveils entirely unique tonal colors and opens up new expressive possibilities. Its distinctive, subtle textures have made it a staple in film scoring and a favorite for exploring introspective improvisation in the jazz realm.
Muted Essence
All articulations were recorded using a custom-made damper, specifically modified to meet the high sonic standards of recordings at Vienna’s acclaimed Silent Stage – a purpose-built studio with a tightly controlled ambience that ensures tonal purity and allowed the Vienna team to capture the very essence of an expertly played muted trumpet.
Versatile and Expressive
A wide range of articulations and expressions like crisp staccatos, expressive legatos, flutter tongueing and trills showcases the C trumpet’s inherent versatility in glorious detail. Recording the samples relatively dry at the Silent Stage makes it possible to place them on your virtual stage and in the stereo field wherever you like, but also enables you to integrate the instrument with the Synchron Series by using the internal convolution reverb recreating Vienna’s own scoring stage, Vienna Synchron Stage.
