Vienna MIR 3D RoomPack 4 “The Sage Gateshead”
RoomPack 4 features renderings of the UK’s landmark building in the northeast of England that boasts outstanding acoustics. The eye-popping curved glass construction, with its shell-like stainless steel roof that appears to wrap itself around the buildings beneath, opened in 2004 as a center for musical education, performance and conferences. It contains three venues that have been constructed as isolated buildings in order to prevent transmission of noise and vibration. A special “spongy” concrete mix was used in the construction, with a higher-than-usual air capacity to improve the acoustics
Vienna MIR 3D RoomPack 5 “Pernegg Monastery”
For RoomPack 5 The Vienna Symphonic Library team has captured the acoustics of the Pernegg Monastery for Vienna MIR Pro 3D from four different microphone positions; microphone 1 is positioned near the center of the altar, microphone 2 in front of it, and microphone 3 in the middle of the nave. Microphone 4 is positioned very near the choir gallery in the back of the nave, at a height of approximately six meters. It is also worth mentioning that there are two balconies in this nave – the lower one with the choir stalls, and the upper one housing the organ. Both are provided in Vienna MIR Pro 3D. The possibilities of placing instruments are expanded further by two additional HotSpots in the cloisters on the left and right sides of the choir.
