The History of a Legend

The reference amplifier is a Marshall* JMP 2104 Master Volume Lead, 50W 2x12" combo. This is the first combo based on a Master Volume 2204 circuit, which has significantly more attack compared to subsequent circuit versions. It has two inputs instead of the four inputs of the previous Lead and Bass models. This is the amp the band used on tours and in the studio between 1976 and 1981. It has since been re-tolexed in red by Marshall.

  • Head date: 1976
  • Serial no: 025xxx series
  • Cabinet fitted with two 12″ Celestion G12-65 T3054 15Ω speakers

Every Tonal and Emotional Detail Captured

The THU SIOUX 50 amp model is powered by Overloud’s proprietary Fluid Modeling technology, delivering exceptional realism and faithfully reproducing the full dynamic response of every control.

Modeled off the original Master Volume circuit (2204), this amp serves up a bold, punchy tone with a raw edge that sets it apart from later versions. While it offers ample gain, artists like Siouxsie and the Banshees often preferred lower gain settings to highlight its fast transient response and razor-sharp articulation.

The included cabinet features a pair of 12″ Celestion G12-65 T3054 15Ω speakers, known for their slightly darker character compared to the T3120s found in later revisions. The cab was captured using 18 microphones with high-resolution nonlinear impulse responses. Overloud’s Fluid Convolution technology allows you to position up to four microphones in a 3D space around the cabinet and blend them with custom IRs. The ReSPiRe feature further enhances realism, delivering the sensation of standing right next to the cab.

Overloud's New Fluid Capturing Technology

Also known as "schematic-assisted capturing," Overloud’s new Fluid Capturing is an innovative amp simulation process that combines the strengths of both modeling and capturing techniques. A sampled amp capture, which is a highly realistic yet fixed representation of the amp at a specific setting, falls short in replicating the amp tone across all knob settings. In contrast, a modeled amp reacts dynamically at all dynamic ranges and knob positions but may not precisely match the iconic color of a particular amp setting. Fluid Capturing takes a comprehensive approach by both modeling and sampling the amp with a variety of settings. This combined data builds a powerful digital model that is as flexible and fluid as a modeled amp and as realistic as a captured amp.

Made In Rock

The Made In Rock Series is a revolutionary virtual amp collection honoring rock history and fueled by Overloud's NEW cutting-edge Fluid Capturing technology. The Made In Rock series features meticulous models of the actual amps that made rock history. Seven products have now been released and are models of amps played by Keith Richards, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Noel Gallagher, Ian Hill, Jimmy Page, Tony Iommi and David Gilmour on classic recordings. They were created in part using an Overloud innovation called "schematic-assisted capturing,” which seamlessly merges modeling and capturing techniques, allowing users to experience the variable nuances of each knob and circuit on these iconic amps.

These products were made possible by the Made In Rock Cultural Association in Italy, which curates an extensive collection of musical instruments, amplifiers, effects, clothing, memorabilia, and stage items once owned and used by legendary rock artists. The association aims to preserve these historical artifacts and impart their knowledge to younger generations.

By leveraging Overloud's Fluid Capturing, recognized as the most advanced capturing technology, Made In Rock achieves precise sound preservation by capturing and replicating every tonal and emotional detail of the amplifiers in their collection.
