Studio Trumpet Ensemble (muted)
A muted trumpet ensemble produces a softer, more restrained sound compared to regular trumpets. The mutes alter the tone, making it less sharp and more refined while preserving the instrument's expressive capabilities. This setup is often used to create an intimate or dense, mysterious atmosphere. Recorded in the tight and controlled ambience of the Silent Stage, this subdued ensemble shines in its purest form.

The ensemble excels at building dramatic tension or offering a restrained yet captivating musical presence. The mutes soften the natural brassy sharpness, creating a smooth, textured resonance that feels both delicate and commanding – perfect for adding subtle emotional depth to your project.
Historical Roots and Cinematic Appeal
Trumpet ensembles have a long-standing tradition in ceremonial music, and the muted variation offers a fresh twist with its soft yet impactful timbre. Ideally suited for suspenseful and atmospheric scoring, this muted trumpet ensemble blends seamlessly with other orchestral instruments, thanks to its masterful performances and meticulously captured articulations.
Versatile and Expressive
The library features a full set of expressive and dynamic articulations, offering various short and long notes, legatos (including fast legatos), crescendos and diminuendos, sfz, sffz, pfp, flutter tongue, as well as half and whole tone trills. Recording the samples relatively dry at the Silent Stage makes it possible to place them on your virtual stage and in the stereo field wherever you like, but also enables you to integrate the ensemble with the Synchron Series by using the internal convolution reverb recreating Vienna’s own scoring stage, Vienna Synchron Stage.
