MoTH Mothers of the Horde amp

The History of a Legend

The reference amplifier comes from Anthony Macary shop in London. It is a 100W JCM800, model 2203 with Serial no. 326433.

The head is matched with two 4x12 cabinets, both equipped with Celestion* G12M 65W speakers: a straight 800 Lead series and a slanted 800 Bass 1935 series.

This amp was owned by Phil Campbell who played it with Motörhead and with his former band The Persian Risk.

Every Tonal and Emotional Detail Captured

The THU MotH head has two separate input channels. The first channel offers lower gain and enhanced low-end response. The second provides higher gain, tighter bass, and a noticeable boost in the treble range.

The original amplifier is incredibly powerful—capable of driving a full stack of two 4x12" cabinets at full volume. It delivers a bright tone with plenty of presence and a medium-to-high gain range. When paired with an overdrive pedal such as a TS9, it produces an exceptionally open, articulate, and powerful rock tone.

Phil's stack included two cabinets, a slanted 4x12 800 Bass 1935 series and a straight 4x12 800 Lead series. Both come equipped with Celestion* G12M 65W creamback speakers. They have been captured with 18 microphones with high resolution nonlinear IRs; thanks to Overloud Fluid Convolution you can place up to 4 microhpnes in the 3D space around the cab and blend them with custom IRs. The ReSPiRe option adds the feeling of standing near the cabinet.

Overloud's New Fluid Capturing Technology

Also known as "schematic-assisted capturing," Overloud’s new Fluid Capturing is an innovative amp simulation process that combines the strengths of both modeling and capturing techniques. A sampled amp capture, which is a highly realistic yet fixed representation of the amp at a specific setting, falls short in replicating the amp tone across all knob settings. In contrast, a modeled amp reacts dynamically at all dynamic ranges and knob positions but may not precisely match the iconic color of a particular amp setting. Fluid Capturing takes a comprehensive approach by both modeling and sampling the amp with a variety of settings. This combined data builds a powerful digital model that is as flexible and fluid as a modeled amp and as realistic as a captured amp.

Made In Rock

The Made In Rock Series is a revolutionary virtual amp collection honoring rock history and fueled by Overloud's NEW cutting-edge Fluid Capturing technology. The Made In Rock series features meticulous models of the actual amps that made rock history. Seven products have now been released and are models of amps played by Keith Richards, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Noel Gallagher, Ian Hill, Jimmy Page, Tony Iommi and David Gilmour on classic recordings. They were created in part using an Overloud innovation called "schematic-assisted capturing,” which seamlessly merges modeling and capturing techniques, allowing users to experience the variable nuances of each knob and circuit on these iconic amps.

These products were made possible by the Made In Rock Cultural Association in Italy, which curates an extensive collection of musical instruments, amplifiers, effects, clothing, memorabilia, and stage items once owned and used by legendary rock artists. The association aims to preserve these historical artifacts and impart their knowledge to younger generations.

By leveraging Overloud's Fluid Capturing, recognized as the most advanced capturing technology, Made In Rock achieves precise sound preservation by capturing and replicating every tonal and emotional detail of the amplifiers in their collection.
