GeoSWAM Collection IV

Five flutes from around the world make up GeoSWAM Collection IV for GeoShred Studio: GeoBansuri, GeoPan, GeoShaku, GeoWhistle, and GeoSlide. Bend, slide, and breathe through India's bamboo bansuri, the stopped pipes of the pan flute, the Japanese shakuhachi, the Irish tin whistle, and the slide whistle, each physically modeled so that breath, ornament, and glide answer pressure and gesture on GeoShred's continuous pitch surface. Five instruments for the price of four, for film, documentary, game, and world music scoring.

Twenty factory presets per instrument, 100 in all. Works with MPE controllers, wind and breath controllers, and GeoShred Control, a free iPhone and iPad companion app that delivers a multi-touch expressive surface for live performance.

GeoSWAM Collection IV runs inside GeoShred Studio, with a license included for customers who do not already own one.

GeoSWAM Collection IV: World Flutes for GeoShred Studio

GeoSWAM Collection IV is a world flute collection for GeoShred Studio, five physically modeled instruments, each with a voice of its own. GeoBansuri is the keyless bamboo flute of Indian classical music, where the glide between notes is the melody. GeoPan is a row of stopped pipes with the chiff of breath on every attack. GeoShaku is the end-blown Japanese shakuhachi, airy by design and bent wide. GeoWhistle is the bright six-hole tin whistle of Irish and Scottish dance music, leaping to its upper octave on harder breath. GeoSlide is the slide whistle, a single pipe and a plunger with fully continuous pitch. For composers scoring documentaries, travel and nature programs, games, and films set anywhere but a concert hall, and for producers who want a breathing melodic voice over an electronic bed, the collection gathers five flutes from outside the concert hall in one purchase. Bought individually, the five instruments total $250. GeoSWAM Collection IV is $200, a savings of $50. GeoSWAM Collection III & IV adds the five saxophones and brass, and GeoSWAM Collection I & II & III & IV includes every GeoSWAM instrument.

Audio Modeling's SWAM physical modeling technology sits under every instrument in the collection, simulating the air stream, the edge or notch it strikes, and the pipe behind it as one continuous acoustic event. Breath, carried by pressure on GeoShred's multi-row grid, drives every note, so a tone can condense out of air, swell, and dissolve back into breath within a single held note. On GeoShred's continuous pitch surface, meend, scoops, wide bends, ornaments, and full glissandi are finger motions along a row, and the fretless Slide and note-snapping Guitar quantization modes let each performer choose how freely pitch moves. All five are monophonic solo instruments. GeoShred's integrated FX rack, including Sympathetic Resonator, EchoMT with Looper, Reverb, and AmpCab, is part of every instrument's signal chain, and each ships with 20 factory presets.

FAQ

What is GeoSWAM Collection IV?
GeoSWAM Collection IV is a bundle of five physically modeled world flutes for GeoShred Studio: GeoBansuri, GeoPan, GeoShaku, GeoWhistle, and GeoSlide. Each is powered by Audio Modeling's SWAM physical modeling technology and designed for expressive, breath-driven solo performance on GeoShred's continuous pitch surface.

Do I need GeoShred Studio to use GeoSWAM Collection IV?
Yes. GeoSWAM Collection IV runs inside GeoShred Studio, and a GeoShred Studio license is included with your purchase for customers who do not already own one. If you already own GeoShred Studio, you can use your existing license to run GeoSWAM Collection IV.

How much do I save with this collection?
Each of the five instruments is available individually for $50, totaling $250 if purchased separately. GeoSWAM Collection IV bundles all five for $200, saving you $50.

How are these flutes different from GeoFlute and GeoBassFlute?
GeoFlute and GeoBassFlute model the keyed Western concert flute family. The Collection IV instruments model flutes built on other principles: GeoBansuri is keyless, so glides and microtonal ornaments are native to it; GeoShaku is end-blown across a notch, with a deliberately breathy tone and wide bends; GeoPan sounds one stopped pipe per note; GeoWhistle is a six-hole whistle that overblows to its upper octave; and GeoSlide sets pitch with a moving plunger, so glissando is its normal way of speaking.

Are GeoSWAM instruments polyphonic?
No. GeoSWAM instruments are monophonic by design, matching the acoustic behavior of a single solo instrument. This makes them ideal for detailed expressive solo performance, orchestral layering, and film scoring. For polyphonic physically modeled instruments, see the Naada collections.

What controllers does GeoSWAM Collection IV support?
All instruments in GeoSWAM Collection IV work with MPE controllers, wind and breath controllers, the free GeoShred Control iOS companion app, and standard MIDI keyboards when paired with a breath, expression, or foot controller.

What's the difference between GeoSWAM and Naada instruments?
GeoSWAM instruments are developed in collaboration with Audio Modeling and focus on Western orchestral and acoustic instruments and, with Collection IV, a set of world flutes. They are monophonic and designed for highly detailed solo performance. Naada instruments are developed by AccelMatrix and span a broader palette of global instruments. Naada instruments are polyphonic, supporting chords and layered textures. Both instrument families share the same expressive GeoShred performance environment.
